How Does Profhilo Work?

While hyaluronic acid is well known as an ingredient in dermal fillers like Juvederm, its role in Profhilo is distinct. Profhilo contains the highest concentration of hyaluronic acid among all injectable treatments. Unlike chemically compounded dermal fillers, Profhilo is thermally bonded, allowing it to disperse and attract water molecules where they’re most needed. This unique property nourishes the skin with a deep hydration boost.

Additionally, by restoring hyaluronic acid levels in the skin, Profhilo also works to replenish lost collagen and enhance skin elasticity while improving texture. Profhilo is ideal for all skin types, so you can be sure you’re a suitable candidate for this revolutionary treatment. Profhilo is most popular among 40-50 year olds, but it is also a highly effective treatment for younger and older patients. The minimum age for Profhilo treatment is 30.

How does it work?

The use of the bap technique identifies the 5 anatomically receptive areas of the face with an absence of large vessels and nerve branches, therefore, minimising the risks while maximising the diffusion of the product in the malar and submalar areas. 0.2ml of Profhilo is then injected at the superficial subcutaneous layer.

What complications are involved?

As with any injectable, there are some minor risks to be aware of. These include bruising and swelling, as well as infection, allergic reaction, vascular compromise and nerve damage. It is important to note that IBSA claims these complications are rare.

How quickly can I expect to see results?

Four weeks after your first treatment, you can expect to see a reduction in fine lines and wrinkles and improvements in skin laxity. After eight weeks, you can expect visible lifting and tightening of the skin.

How regular should I get treatment?

When you begin treatment, you will receive two sessions with a one month interval, followed by a maintenance treatment after 6 months depending on the level of ageing. The results will last for 6 months.
